A marketplace for trading cards, run in the open.
TakoCards is where independent sellers list singles, sealed product and graded slabs, and where buyers can find them without trawling five different sites. We run the catalogue, the checkout and the dispute process. The sellers own the cards.
Why we built it this way
Buying cards online usually means choosing between a marketplace that knows nothing about cards and a forum that knows everything but has no protection at all. We wanted the middle: a proper catalogue — sets, cards, characters, sealed product, condition and grading — with a real checkout and a real process for when an order goes wrong, sitting behind it.
So the catalogue is shared. A listing is attached to the actual card variant or sealed product it sells, which is what makes price history, wishlist alerts and “everyone selling this card” possible at all. And every order runs through the platform, because that is the only way a dispute can hold a payout.
What we do
- Maintain the card and sealed-product catalogue everything is listed against.
- Review seller applications, including identity documents, before an account can trade.
- Take the payment, and hold the seller's share until the order is settled.
- Arbitrate disputes and decide refunds when a buyer and seller can't agree.
- Act on reports about listings, sellers and off-platform payment attempts.
What we don't do
- We don't own, hold or ship the cards. Sellers do, from their own stock.
- We don't inspect items before they ship, so a listing's condition is the seller's claim.
- We're not a party to the sale — the contract is between you and the seller.
- We don't grade cards. Grades on a slab come from the grading company on the label.
- We don't claim any rights over the card artwork or trademarks shown here.
What you can actually do here
Singles, sealed, graded slabs and bundles, filtered by condition and price — and saveable as a search you can re-run.
A real catalogueSets, cards, characters and sealed product exist as pages in their own right — even when nobody is selling them.
Track your collectionRecord what you own, see it valued against catalogue prices, and keep a binder view of it.
Wishlist alertsFollow a card, a sealed product or a character and be told when one is listed or the price moves past your threshold.
Seller storesEvery seller has a storefront with their ratings, reviews, shipping bands and everything they have live.
A route to a refundDisputes are handled on the order itself, with the seller's payout held for as long as one is open.
About the card images and names
Product images on TakoCards are uploaded by sellers and show the actual item for sale. We don't own or claim any copyright in the artwork, characters, trademarks or designs printed on trading cards — those belong to their respective publishers and rights holders, and appear here only to identify the physical items sellers are offering.
If you hold rights in something published here and want it removed, get in touch through support. The full position is in our terms of service.
Selling here
Anyone with an account can apply to sell. Applications are reviewed, including identity documents, before a store can trade — and once approved you get a storefront, your own shipping rates, order management and payouts. The mechanics, fees included, are laid out in how it works.
